Licensed Therapist

About the role

The Well, a Christian Counseling Center and ministry of Generations Church, provides compassionate, faith-based clinical mental health services to individuals, couples and families. It is seeking a Licensed Therapist who is passionate about ministry, mental health and the integration of psychology and faith.

Required profile

• Graduated from a CACREP-accredited program in social work, marriage and family therapy or mental health counseling.
• Licensed to provide mental health counseling services in the state of Georgia.
• Available to be on site at least 20 hours per week.
• Willing to join weekly counseling center meetings that include Bible reading and prayer, and to help provide workshops and therapeutic resources to the church community.

Required skills

• Competent in assessing, diagnosing and treating mental health conditions and relational concerns.
• Proficient in developing and implementing treatment plans, with strong case conceptualization skills.
• Knowledge of crisis management and trauma-informed practice.
• Understanding of confidentiality, documentation and record keeping, and best practices for treatment modalities.
• Commitment to continuing education in a particular area of counseling or therapeutic model.
• Completion of Gottman Level One or Relational Life Level One training for couples counseling, and DBT or CBT certification training for individual counseling.

Spiritual criteria

• Verbalizes a strong faith in God and has a calling to work in mental health.
• Demonstrates a clear understanding of key Biblical principles and a clear values system.
