Associate Technical Proposal Specialist

About the role

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division is hiring an Associate Technical Proposal Specialist in Pinetops, NC, reporting to the ELDS NAM Grid Components Proposals Leader. The role is onsite and contributes to the North American Grid Components business. It suits recent Electrical Engineering graduates who want to create bids, estimates and quotations from customer specifications, requirements or budget, balancing technical and cost elements to secure competitive bids and good margins.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate competitive bids, estimates and quotations by choosing the best product mix and the right technical and commercial approach.
• Create well-documented tenders on time, with full and accurate costs.
• Manage the technical, financial and, where needed, project management parts of bids and estimates, stating prices and trading conditions.
• Ensure inputs for editing are provided on time and follow quality procedures.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrated proficiency in electrical systems design, power distribution analysis and industrial automation fundamentals.
• Eager to learn about proposal and manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• Experience with project management tools, estimation software and ERP systems in the electrical equipment manufacturing and industrial automation market.
