About the role

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Communication and Media Studies seeks a tenured Associate Professor to lead its Digital Media – Sports/Entertainment track. The role focuses on preparing students for careers as communication strategists and content creators in the sports and entertainment industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver graduate and undergraduate courses in strategic communication, web design, podcasting, social media, and sports & entertainment production.
• Provide online, asynchronous, hybrid, and face‑to‑face instruction while integrating current industry practices.
• Maintain strong industry connections to keep curriculum aligned with emerging trends.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Communication from an accredited university by the hire date.
• Significant professional experience in digital media, sports/entertainment production, and content creation.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in a 100% asynchronous online format and adapt to hybrid or face‑to‑face settings.
