Associate Lawyer – Family Litigation (Mid‑level)

About the role

Caron & Partners LLP, a well‑established Calgary law firm, is expanding its Family Practice Group. We are seeking a motivated mid‑level associate to handle a full spectrum of family law matters and contribute to the firm’s reputation for high‑quality legal service.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations and provide concise legal advice on divorce, parenting, support, and property division.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, arbitration and other dispute‑resolution settings.
• Perform in‑depth legal research, analyze complex issues, and apply relevant statutes and guidelines.
• Draft pleadings, motions, agreements and other court submissions.
• Negotiate settlements and manage case files from inception to resolution.

Required profile

• LLB or JD and active membership with the Law Society of Alberta.
• 3–4 years of family law experience with solid knowledge of the Divorce Act, Family Property Act, Family Law Act, Matrimonial Property Act, Federal Child Support Guidelines and Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines.
• Strong analytical, advocacy and written communication abilities.
• Proven litigation experience and comfort with mediation, arbitration and negotiation.
• Ability to manage high‑pressure situations, competing priorities and a busy caseload.
