Associate Human Resources Generalist

About the role

Quartermaster is looking for a proactive Associate HR Generalist to support its rapidly scaling team. You will own the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, while providing high‑touch support for day‑to‑day HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end onboarding and offboarding, coordinating with IT, Recruiting, and hiring managers.
• Maintain data integrity in the HRIS, keeping employee profiles, org charts, and compensation records up‑to‑date.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries on benefits, policies, leave, and HR processes.
• Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, broker coordination, and workers’ compensation.
• Support compliance by monitoring labor‑law requirements, updating handbooks, and managing personnel files.
• Coordinate performance‑management cycles, feedback touchpoints, and training initiatives.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to streamline the transition from offer acceptance to Day 1.
• Drive culture initiatives, employee recognition programs, and team events.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of hands‑on HR experience in a fast‑growing, venture‑backed tech environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
• Strong discretion, maturity, and judgment handling confidential information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a customer‑service mindset.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive projects independently in a fast‑changing startup.

Required skills

• Experience with modern HR platforms such as Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, or Sequoia.
• Solid understanding of HR fundamentals, labor laws, benefits administration, and compliance best practices.
• HR certification (SHRM‑CP or PHR) is a plus.
