Associate General Counsel

About the role

The Associate General Counsel is a key legal and business partner at Renuity, providing strategic counsel across commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, employment matters, litigation, licensing, risk management, and corporate operations. The role works closely with executive and functional leaders to mitigate risk, enable growth, and support enterprise‑wide initiatives while serving as a trusted backup to the General Counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, marketing, technology, supply, and services agreements; maintain contract templates and playbooks.
• Review advertising, promotional, financing, pricing, and discounting practices for compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Advise business leaders on hiring, employee relations, wage and hour compliance, worker classification, and employment disputes.
• Manage consumer disputes, warranty claims, mechanic's lien matters, and oversee outside counsel on litigation strategy and budgets.
• Support contractor licensing, registrations, bonding, multi‑state regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters.
• Assist with M&A due diligence, disclosure schedules, post‑acquisition integration, and legal process implementation.
• Partner with Risk Management on insurance coverage, claims administration, and indemnification.
• Supervise and develop legal support staff, build scalable legal processes, and deliver compliance training across functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior legal advisor in a corporate environment.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with executive, marketing, HR, and operations teams.
• Strong judgment in risk mitigation and business enablement.
• Leadership skills to supervise legal support staff and drive process improvements.
