Associate, Field Network

About the role

We are seeking a Field Network and Strategic Communications Associate to join our team in Washington, DC. This hybrid position will primarily support our national network of field consultants, manage consultant relationships, assist with business development, and contribute to strategic communications work.

Key responsibilities

• Gather intel from the consultant network for client accounts, monitor issues, and produce election guides, lobby directories, and political calendars.
• Oversee consultants on the front lines, conduct interviews, maintain databases, and report on account activity.
• Identify emerging local, state, and federal issues, translate intel into business‑development documents, and help recruit new consultants for the 50‑state network.
• Manage day‑to‑day operational needs of client accounts, ensuring materials, timelines, and project trackers are accurate and accessible.
• Collaborate across internal teams, communicate clearly with peers and clients, and support onboarding of newer staff or interns.
• Deliver assigned work on time, keep trackers organized, produce first‑draft client content, and apply feedback to improve deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in field organizing, grassroots campaigns, political operations, communications, or a related area (internship experience considered).
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail when managing databases, trackers, and paperwork.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide network of consultants and subcontractors.
• Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable researching emerging issues across local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; creative, energetic, detail‑oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset.
