Associate Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to develop, analyze, and test complex electronics for NASA, military, and commercial space applications. You will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager in the Actuation Systems business unit and work onsite in East Aurora, NY.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers in a team‑oriented environment to share knowledge and drive innovation.
• Use CAD tools to create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and simulation models.
• Validate conceptual solutions through trade studies and detailed analyses.
• Perform design analyses such as signal‑integrity, stress, sensitivity, worst‑case, and derating studies.
• Develop and execute test procedures at the circuit‑card, box, and system‑integration levels.
• Document designs, analyses, and test results in clear, concise reports.
• Participate in hardware failure investigations and provide work estimates for new proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) or a related field.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Self‑motivated with strong critical‑thinking and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).
• Preferred: experience with circuit modeling and simulation.
• Preferred: experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using Allegro Capture CIS and PCB Editor.
• Preferred: familiarity with analog and mixed‑signal circuit design.
