Associate Director for Industry Relations

About the role

The Associate Director for Industry Relations will lead the university’s efforts to build and sustain strategic partnerships with industry partners. This senior position supports the university’s mission of advancing research, education, and economic development through collaborative relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive industry‑relations strategy aligned with university goals.
• Identify, engage, and negotiate partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and regional businesses.
• Coordinate collaborative research projects, internships, and workforce development initiatives.
• Serve as the primary liaison between academic units and external industry stakeholders.
• Represent the university at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or partnership management, preferably in higher education or research environments.
• Strong understanding of industry trends and the ability to translate them into actionable university initiatives.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with senior corporate leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
