Associate Director, External Communications

About the role

The Associate Director, External Communications will shape Servier’s corporate narrative, strengthen its reputation and support thought leadership for senior leaders. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Communications, this Boston‑based role will activate external communications strategy across channels and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and activate external communications strategies that translate enterprise priorities into clear, cohesive storytelling.
• Lead the creation of high‑quality external communications materials, including messaging, statements, leadership content and narrative tools.
• Partner with Corporate Affairs and cross‑functional stakeholders to align storytelling with broader business priorities.
• Strengthen communications processes, messaging tools and best practices as the organization grows.
• Execute measurement approaches and track KPIs to inform continuous improvement.
• Develop thought‑leadership opportunities for senior leaders, such as speaking engagements and authored content.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 8 + years of corporate communications experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
• Experience leading external communications, corporate narrative, reputation or thought‑leadership programs in a regulated environment.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling and message development skills for executive and external audiences.
• Ability to operate independently with sound judgment in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
• Experience collaborating with senior functional leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders; agency and in‑house biopharma experience preferred.
