Associate Director, Commerce

About the role

Starcom, a standalone media agency owned by Publicis Media, is hiring an Associate Director, Commerce in Chicago. The role leads Paid Search and Display media, with a strong focus on retail media and marketplace advertising. It suits an independent, self-motivated leader who guides client strategy and campaign performance while staying hands-on with platform execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated Search and Display media strategies, with most investment in Paid Search
• Act as subject matter expert on retail media platforms, especially Amazon Ads and Chewy advertising solutions
• Drive campaign performance through optimization, budget management, forecasting and reporting
• Lead Search, DSP and Analyst team members and conduct performance reviews and career path plans
• Serve as the primary client-facing lead, presenting recommendations and insights
• Own campaign performance reviews and turn data into actionable recommendations
• Manage process development, quality control and media planning for assigned accounts
• Mentor direct reports, provide training and document best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred; 5+ years of related experience
• 2+ years of team management experience
• Experience leading across Paid Search and Display, and commerce media buying and planning
• Amazon Ads, Amazon DSP and Chewy experience preferred but not required
• Strong client management, presentation and decision-making skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Multi-tasking and working under pressure to tight deadlines
