Associate Chief Medical Officer – Clinical Faculty (Pediatrics)

About the role

The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) for Holtz Children’s Hospital and Jackson Women’s Hospital will provide senior clinical leadership for the pediatric faculty. Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, the ACMO acts as a bridge between medical staff and hospital administration to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective care.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee medical practice quality, patient safety, and cost‑effectiveness across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Serve as liaison between physicians, hospital committees, and senior administrators.
• Develop and implement disease‑management programs, clinical protocols, and decision‑support tools.
• Monitor physician and group performance, present data analyses, and drive utilization review.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, including peer‑review processes and corrective action plans.
• Maintain compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory standards through performance databases.
• Facilitate communication with senior staff, community partners, and coordinate patient transfers.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a hospital or health‑system setting.
• Strong ability to translate data into actionable quality and cost‑improvement strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with physicians, administrators, and external stakeholders.
• Experience in developing and overseeing clinical effectiveness and disease‑management programs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Expertise in quality management, performance measurement, and utilization review.
• Ability to design and implement evidence‑based clinical protocols.
