Associate Biomechanical Engineer

About the role

The Associate Biomechanical Engineer will join DELTA |v|’s Accident Reconstruction and Biomechanics team in Charlotte, supporting senior engineers in motor‑vehicle crash investigations. The role blends field data collection with in‑office analysis to produce science‑based conclusions on injury mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in investigating, analyzing, and reconstructing motor‑vehicle crashes.
• Conduct fieldwork to document accident scenes and gather vehicle dynamics data.
• Perform in‑office analysis using engineering principles, emerging technologies, and analytical tools to develop clear, evidence‑based findings.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related Engineering with a focus on injury biomechanics.
• Strong knowledge of biomechanics, injury causation, and injury thresholds.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work outdoors.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a commitment to professional growth.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience in finite‑element (FE) modeling.
• Ability to run computational simulations.
