Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Veterinary Medical Oncology

About the role

The Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Veterinary Medical Oncology. This faculty position can be on a tenure or clinical track and will support the rapidly expanding Oncology service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise and direct patient care for oncology cases across all species.
• Lead the oncology service on a rotating basis, supervising technologists, interns, and residents.
• Teach and mentor veterinary students, interns, and residents in oncology.
• Participate in scholarly activities, including research and publications, within the Veterinary Clinical Sciences department.
• Oversee case management and ensure high-quality care throughout the oncology section.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a residency accredited by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology).
• Eligibility for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology).
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and clinical service.

Required skills

• Clinical oncology expertise for multiple animal species.
• Ability to supervise and train veterinary interns, residents, and students.
• Strong case management and diagnostic skills in oncology.
