Assistant/Associate Professor – Pathology (Veterinary)

About the role

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Veterinary Medicine seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor in Pathology. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty team to teach veterinary pathology to DVM students and contribute to scholarship, service, and program development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instruction in general and systemic veterinary pathology, including gross and histopathology laboratories.
• Incorporate active‑learning and case‑based strategies to enhance diagnostic reasoning.
• Create course materials, assessments, and digital pathology resources aligned with learning outcomes.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate student assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
• Participate in curriculum planning, review, and integration across foundational and clinical sciences.
• Engage in scholarly activities, accreditation processes, and institutional initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD or DVM with specialization in veterinary pathology.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity (publications, grants, or presentations).
• Commitment to student mentorship and service to the profession.
