Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics/STEM Education

About the role

The College of Education and Human Development seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Mathematics/STEM Education program beginning Fall 2027. The position involves teaching, research, and service across undergraduate and graduate educator‑preparation programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses in mathematics education and related STEM subjects.
• Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop and enhance curriculum and program offerings.
• Maintain an active research agenda, including publications, conference presentations, and external grant pursuits.

Required profile

• Earned doctoral degree in Mathematics Education or a closely related field (ABD considered for Assistant rank, degree must be conferred by appointment).
• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics Education or a related area.
• Three years of K‑12 mathematics teaching experience with certification.
• For Associate rank: five years of full‑time university faculty experience, including at least four years as an Assistant Professor.
• Evidence of an emerging research record and familiarity with educator preparation standards.

Required skills

• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching.
• Experience with instructional technology and online course development.
