About the role
The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies seeks a full‑time Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical to join its Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. This faculty member will support the growth of both clinical and didactic education, advise students, and contribute to program development in the psychiatric mental health specialty.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver didactic, simulation, and clinical instruction for PMHNP students.
- Provide academic and clinical advising and mentorship.
- Support curriculum delivery and assist in course development and evaluation.
- Engage in scholarship, research activities, and peer‑reviewed publications.
- Participate in community and academic service, maintaining and expanding clinical partnerships.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP) or a Master’s in Nursing (MSN required).
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Current active APRN and RN license (or eligibility for Florida licensure prior to start).
- 3–5 years of progressive clinical experience in psychiatric mental health settings.
- Experience teaching, precepting, or mentoring graduate nursing students preferred.
Required skills
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Active APRN and RN licensure.
