Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding and seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology. This full‑time faculty position involves clinical care, teaching, and participation in departmental academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services for a broad range of cases, including orthopedics, gynecology, community obstetrics, abdominal, and general vascular surgeries.
• Supervise and mentor trainees, residents, and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
• Participate in departmental conferences, faculty meetings, and educational programs.
• Maintain on‑call coverage (3‑4 overnight calls per month, with occasional evening or weekend calls).
• Contribute to research efforts and pursue extramural grant funding as appropriate.

Required profile

• Completion of a US‑approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology (or equivalent determined case‑by‑case).
• Comfort with supervising trainees and performing cases independently when needed.
• Ability to work with older children and limited regional anesthesia techniques.
