Assistant/Associate Professor – Industrial & Systems Engineering

About the role

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Miami seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at the assistant or associate level to start in Spring 2026. The successful candidate will join a vibrant research community, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and help advance the department’s interdisciplinary initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial and systems engineering.
• Develop and maintain an active research program in areas such as data analytics, machine learning, or advanced manufacturing.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to promote interdisciplinary research.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service.

• Ability to secure external research funding is desirable.
