Assistant/Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Department of Engineering at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9‑month, tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering, starting Fall 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in solid mechanics, manufacturing processes, mechanical systems design, and related areas.
• Develop and refine curriculum, mentor students, and contribute to the new Ph.D. in Engineering program.
• Establish an independent research program and secure external funding.

Required profile

• Earned doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (ABD considered if conferred by appointment).
• For Associate rank: minimum five years of full‑time university faculty experience, including at least four years as an Assistant Professor.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications in reputable journals.

Required skills

• Expertise in solid mechanics, mechanical systems design, manufacturing processes, or rigid‑body mechanics/dynamical systems analysis.
• Interest or experience in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with government or industrial labs.
