Assistant/Associate Professor – Education Leadership

About the role

Texas A&M University–Texarkana seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor of Educational Leadership to join the core faculty of its online Doctor of Education (EdD) program. The role involves teaching, mentorship, and applied research within a Doctorate of Practice model.

Key responsibilities

• Teach doctoral‑level courses in Educational Leadership, including required synchronous evening sessions.
• Design and deliver instruction that integrates applied research, organizational improvement, and evidence‑based leadership practices.
• Serve on and chair doctoral dissertation committees, guiding Dissertation of Practice projects.
• Mentor doctoral students in developing, implementing, and disseminating applied research.
• Maintain an active research agenda resulting in peer‑reviewed publications and present at professional conferences.
• Pursue external funding opportunities and contribute to program assessment, curriculum refinement, and continuous improvement.
• Support doctoral student recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives.
• Engage in service to the division, university, and profession, including accreditation activities.

Required profile

• Earned PhD or EdD in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed scholarly publications appropriate to rank.
• Potential for an active research agenda in educational leadership.
• Strong evidence of teaching potential and professional experience in educational or organizational leadership.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. at the time of hire (no sponsorship).
