Assistant/Associate Professor – Director of Large Animal Ambulatory Services

About the role

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Veterinary Medicine seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to lead its Large Animal Ambulatory Services. This full‑time, faculty position provides strategic leadership for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive large‑animal clinical services that support the new DVM program and the university’s land‑grant mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for large‑animal and ambulatory clinical services, including operational oversight and quality assurance.
• Deliver high‑quality veterinary medical care in food‑animal and equine field‑based settings.
• Instruct and supervise DVM students in ambulatory and large‑animal practice environments.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, safety procedures, and service standards.
• Engage in veterinary extension, outreach, scholarship, and research activities.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with eligibility for state licensure.
• Demonstrated experience in large‑animal and ambulatory veterinary practice.
• Record of teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity in veterinary medicine.
• Commitment to the university’s land‑grant mission and public‑health goals.
