Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Construction (Southeast Michigan)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Superintendent to support the delivery of commercial construction projects across Southeast Michigan. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will help coordinate daily site activities, keep work on schedule, and maintain strong communication with trade partners while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short‑term (2‑4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three‑week look‑ahead planning.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.
• Facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities.
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness.
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events.
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required.
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and ability to manage risk and cost control.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication with clients, project teams, and trade partners.
