Assistant Store Director - Danville, IL

About the role

Meijer is looking for an Assistant Store Director for its Danville, IL store. The role provides direction on operations, processes and store conditions, plans and supervises the day-to-day team, and is responsible for the selection, training, development and performance management of all team members in its span of care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Director in running overall store operations and act as store manager in their absence
• Manage planograms, seasonal resets and endcaps, following the company merchandising planograms and using 85/15 to design orders, ad sets, displays and pricing
• Lead performance management for leaders and team members, including ratings, career development and promotion potential
• Recruit, select and retain a team that supports the Meijer culture, including diversity, equity and inclusion
• Hold daily huddles sharing financial performance, customer feedback and recognition
• Drive store profitability through sales, shrink, labor, margin, total direct contribution, net profit, customer satisfaction and safety metrics
• Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved quickly, and products and displays are merchandised to maximize sales
• Verify compliance with Meijer's and local authorities' food safety standards
• Take part in daily DSD execution, backroom and sales floor excellence, and stay current on competitor trends
• Cultivate relationships with the local community and act as a strong community partner

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years of retail, grocery, operations management or customer service experience
• 4+ years of progressive leadership experience
• Strong business acumen and proactive, creative thinking
• Commitment to an inclusive environment for team members and vendors

What we offer

• Pay range of $62,000 to $101,500, with possible incentive bonuses
