Assistant Site Director – After‑School Programs

About the role

The YMCA is seeking an Assistant Site Director to support daily after‑school operations in North Reading. Reporting to the Site Director, you will help prepare programs before school dismissal and lead activities that combine learning, play, sports, and swimming.

Key responsibilities

• Emphasize student safety and emotional well‑being; act as a positive role model.
• Plan and implement recreational and educational programs that encourage group participation and choice.
• Manage daily attendance records, support behavior guidance, and report accidents or incidents promptly.
• Assist with daily activity planning, special events, Family Night, and extended‑hour coverage.
• Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment; ensure proper use by students.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with a passion for working with children.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or coursework preferred.
• Experience in youth programs, camps, or related settings.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and Oxygen certifications (or willingness to complete YMCA training).
• Available up to 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 10 am‑6 pm.
