About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full‑time Assistant Scientist to advance its research agenda. The role supports basic and applied research, contributes to scientific publications, and helps promote the institution’s reputation in cancer research.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct experiments, collect, organize, and analyze data.
- Collaborate with senior staff to publish findings in refereed journals.
- Prepare scientific publications, technical reports, and patent documentation.
- Write extramural grant proposals and assist with grant submissions.
- Request and acquire equipment and supplies for assigned projects.
- Maintain ready access to experimental data for managing staff.
- Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and follow unit‑level procedures.
Required profile
- Doctoral‑level degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant research experience.
- Strong ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems.
- Sound judgment for critical decision‑making.
