About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC is seeking a full‑time Assistant Scientist to support its Population Sciences research agenda. The role involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the university’s scientific output.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct basic and applied research, design experiments, and analyze results.
- Author scientific publications, technical reports, and patent applications.
- Collaborate with senior staff to publish findings in refereed journals.
- Write and submit extramural grant proposals and manage related documentation.
- Acquire equipment and supplies needed for assigned projects.
- Maintain and provide ready access to all experimental data for the research team.
- Support regulatory and personnel oversight of research operations.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant research experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
