Assistant Retail Manager

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel is hiring an Assistant Retail Manager for its retail department in White Sulphur Springs. The role models the hotel's service standards, supports the manager and helps the shop team reach its monthly sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Model the Greenbrier service standards and achieve personal sales goals each month
• Help fellow shop team members reach their sales goals
• Maintain the shop client book and run periodic cycle counts on inventory
• Keep the shop clean and safe and order supplies from Purchasing as needed
• Assist the Manager with the bi-weekly schedule and purchase orders, and travel to the market

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of retail experience, including scheduling and inventory control
• Prior market and merchandise buying experience preferred
• Experience managing 10 people
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to lift 10-20 pounds regularly, bend, stand for long periods and work under pressure and deadlines

Required skills

• Demonstrated retail sales ability and ability to motivate and coach sales associates
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills and expert knowledge of the shop's product lines
• Ability to work independently and give direction and training to staff
