About the role
The School of Engineering Medicine at Texas A&M University seeks an Assistant Research Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team investigating atypical T‑cell subsets. The role is based in Houston, TX, and involves cutting‑edge immunology and molecular biology research using transgenic mouse models.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments focused on Group 1 CD1‑restricted and Group 2 CD1‑restricted T‑cell biology.
- Utilize novel Group 1 CD1‑transgenic human immune system mice to study T‑cell function in vivo.
- Perform molecular biology, flow cytometry, and cell‑culture assays.
- Maintain biosafety level 2 laboratory standards and ensure equipment upkeep.
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and contribute to scientific publications.
Required profile
- PhD in immunology, molecular biology, genetics, parasitology, cancer biology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with molecular biology techniques in a BSL‑2 environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced research setting.
