Assistant Registrar – Academic & Student Records

About the role

The Assistant Registrar for Academic & Student Records supports the Associate University Registrar in maintaining the integrity of all academic records. This position ensures accurate grade processing, degree conferrals, and compliance with athletic eligibility rules across Georgetown University’s campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee grade entry, thesis/dissertation titles, honors, awards, and degree data.
• Manage degree conferral, transcript production, and consortium registration processes.
• Supervise staff responsible for grade and transcript production.
• Certify academic eligibility of student‑athletes in line with NCAA, Big East, and Patriot League regulations.
• Collaborate with faculty, deans, and university offices to resolve records issues and provide training.
• Ensure confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA.
• Process work promptly to meet university timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience with academic records management in a higher‑education setting.
• Strong knowledge of NCAA eligibility requirements and FERPA regulations.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with students, faculty, and external partners.
