Assistant Project Manager – Luxury Residential Construction

About the role

Our client, a well‑established general contractor specializing in high‑end residential construction in Manhattan and the Tri‑State area, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support one or more active projects from pre‑construction through close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain project schedules, flag potential delays, and coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
• Manage RFI, submittal, and shop‑drawing processes, including logs and follow‑up.
• Prepare and track change orders, commitment documents, and subcontractor agreements.
• Reconcile job costs against budget and assist accounting with client invoicing.
• Maintain drawing sets, specifications, and project files in both physical and electronic form.
• Produce meeting agendas, minutes, daily logs, transmittals, and assist with punch‑list development and close‑out deliverables.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager in high‑end residential or comparable commercial construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional presence on‑site and in the office.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD or similar drawing tools.
• Working knowledge of construction terminology and ability to read drawings and specifications.
