Assistant Project Manager

About the role

F.H. Paschen, a construction company with over 115 years of experience, is hiring an Assistant Project Manager in Detroit. This is an assistant managerial position reporting to the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects and scopes as assigned by the manager
• Work with the owner's representative to communicate project progress
• Prepare preliminary estimates and budgets, and monitor project costs
• Select subcontractors, solicit bids, review proposals and negotiate contract changes with owners
• Solicit and process submittals and shop drawings
• Collaborate on and update the CPM project schedule and the job cost budget
• Maintain project documentation and investigate adverse situations, reporting to the Project Manager
• Represent the company in project meetings when required and help manage project close-out documentation
• Take an active part in safety and perform additional duties as assigned

Required profile

• B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering
• 2-3 years of general construction experience
• Knowledge of construction, quantity take-offs and estimating
