Assistant Project Manager, Construction

About the role

Clēnera is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support 2‑4 utility‑scale solar and energy storage projects in Boise. The role will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate design, procurement, construction, and financial activities, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑construction support by reviewing design deliverables, monitoring milestones, and coordinating with engineering, legal and permitting teams.
• Track procurement activities, review submittals for compliance, monitor schedules for long‑lead items and flag risks.
• Monitor construction progress, identify delays, and recommend mitigation strategies to the Project Manager.
• Administer RFIs, submittals, change orders and EPC deliverables, maintaining accurate workflows.
• Assist with change management by evaluating change order requests and analyzing cost and schedule impacts.
• Support financial management including reviewing pay applications, validating invoices, tracking budgets and cost codes, and liaising with Accounts Payable.
• Contribute to job‑site safety, quality control and inspection processes by reviewing reports and tracking corrective actions.
• Act as a communication hub among contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, escalating critical issues as needed.
• Lead close‑out coordination activities to ensure smooth turnover to operations.

• Experience in construction or renewable energy project environments is preferred.

Required skills

• Familiarity with project documentation such as RFIs, submittals and change orders.
• Basic understanding of procurement processes and long‑lead item management.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Fundamental financial tracking skills including invoice review and budget monitoring.
