Assistant Project Manager – Construction

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful delivery of construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout. Working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, this role ensures projects meet safety, budget, schedule, and quality objectives while maintaining strong client communication.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in overall project execution, acting as a point of contact for clients and providing regular status updates.
• Help manage budgets, contracts, change orders, and pay applications; review and approve invoices.
• Support pre‑construction activities such as buy‑out, value engineering, and logistics planning.
• Partner with the Superintendent to develop, update, and distribute project schedules and monitor progress.
• Maintain project documentation—including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and plan sets—and produce regular status reports.
• Promote site safety, assist in enforcing the safety plan, and help uphold quality control standards.
• Coordinate punch‑list items and prepare operations and maintenance manuals for project closeout.
