About the role
The Department of Political Science at the Bush School of Government & Public Service, Texas A&M University, seeks three tenure‑track Assistant Professors. Appointees will join a vibrant community of scholars, contributing to research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service to the profession starting August 1 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda leading to publications in reputable journals.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses across the traditional subfields of political science.
- Advise and mentor students, including supervising theses and dissertations.
- Participate in departmental, school‑wide, and university service activities.
- Engage with the broader academic community through conferences, workshops, and collaborative projects.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in political science or a closely related discipline.
- Strong potential for high‑quality research and a commitment to scholarly excellence.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in effective teaching at the university level.
- Willingness to contribute to departmental and institutional service.
Required skills
- Expertise in one or more traditional subfields of political science.
