Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) – Construction Engineering & Management

About the role

The Department of the Built Environment at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a full‑time, nine‑month Assistant Professor (Tenure‑Track) in Construction Engineering and Management, beginning Spring 2026. The successful candidate will support the new Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management, the Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering, and the existing Bachelor of Science in Construction Management Technology.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering, management, and related technologies.
• Advise and mentor students, guiding research projects and career development.
• Engage in applied research aligned with the department’s focus areas.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program accreditation activities.
• Participate in departmental, school, and university service committees.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated potential for high‑quality research and scholarly publication.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary department.
