Assistant Professor of Clinical – Transplant Hepatology

About the role

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor of Clinical Transplant Hepatology to join the Division of Transplant Hepatology. The role involves direct patient care for adult pre‑ and post‑transplant patients and participation in medical education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care to adult pre‑ and post‑transplant patients at the Miami Transplant Institute and satellite clinics.
• Deliver inpatient care to adult pre‑ and post‑transplant patients at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
• Attend multidisciplinary transplant conferences and rounds.
• Precept medical students, residents, and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree from an ABIM‑recognized internal medicine residency.
• Board‑certified in Hepatology (ABIM).
• Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Specialized training in transplant hepatology after fellowship (highly desired).
• Experience working and teaching in an academic setting (highly desired).

Required skills

• Maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.
• Excellent clinical knowledge in transplant hepatology.
• Strong interpersonal communication with staff, patients, and families.
