About the role

The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences to join its Department of Psychiatry. This tenure‑track faculty position serves as the primary liaison with the JMH Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic and offers opportunities for clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat child and adolescent patients in University of Miami clinics and hospitals.
• Teach medical students and supervise psychiatry residents and child psychiatry fellows.
• Provide clinical services as part of the UMMG faculty practice.
• Collaborate with departmental leaders on patient‑care initiatives and attend faculty meetings.
• Serve as Training Director for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program, overseeing curriculum development, resident supervision, and faculty participation.
• Organize seminars on child psychopathology, growth, development, and psychotherapy.
• Ensure compliance with institutional grievance and due‑process procedures.

Required profile

• MD or MD/PhD with board eligibility in psychiatry.
• Unrestricted medical license.
• Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, clinical practice, and academic teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and supervise residency training programs.
