Assistant Professor of Clinical OBGYN, Generalist

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical OBGYN to join the Generalist division. The incumbent will serve as an attending physician, providing obstetric care and overseeing inpatient services at Jackson Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in inpatient and outpatient settings across multiple University of Miami and Jackson Health System locations.
• Teach, mentor, and evaluate medical students, residents, and fellows in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Develop and implement holistic treatment plans that address biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors.
• Perform physical assessments, prescribe medications, and manage labor and delivery.
• Document patient information, report quality‑assurance incidents, and adhere to institutional policies.
• Participate in continuing medical education and scholarly activities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Active medical license in Florida.
• Experience with inpatient obstetric care and labor management.
• Commitment to education, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment of obstetric patients.
• Management of labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Prescribing obstetric medications and treatment protocols.
• Knowledge of quality‑assurance and patient safety processes.
