Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine – Rheumatology

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine specializing in Rheumatology to provide high‑quality patient care and contribute to academic missions across its UHealth facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver rheumatology consultative and follow‑up care to adult patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Maintain an outpatient clinical practice diagnosing and treating arthritis and musculoskeletal diseases.
• Ensure close encounters within 48 hours of patient visits.
• Participate in night and weekend call rotations and attend scheduled duties at all affiliated facilities.
• Engage in teaching, scholarly activities, quality‑improvement initiatives, and departmental/university service.

Required profile

• MD degree with ACGME‑accredited internal medicine internship and residency.
• Completed a 2‑year ACGME‑accredited Rheumatology fellowship.
• Board certification (or eligibility) in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
• Unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligibility to obtain prior to credentialing).
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification if applicable.
• Valid DEA licensure.
