Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology (Director of Skin Imaging)

About the role

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology who will also serve as Director of Skin Imaging and Technology. The role combines patient care, cancer‑related research, and leadership of a multidisciplinary skin imaging program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical dermatology services (≈60% of effort) focusing on skin cancer prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.
• Lead and expand the skin imaging and technology platform, coordinating with physicians, patients, and research teams.
• Conduct cancer‑related dermatology research (≈20% of effort) and secure funding to support the practice.
• Participate in teaching activities for the master’s and residency programs, including educational conferences and departmental meetings.
• Manage administrative duties related to the department and the skin imaging program (≈10% of effort).

Required profile

• Florida‑licensed M.D. with board certification or eligibility in Dermatology.
• Demonstrated ability to generate clinical revenue and contribute to departmental financial goals.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary clinical and research environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently within a collaborative team.
