About the role
The Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences at LSU’s School of Veterinary Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor of Anatomy (clinical track) to teach first‑year veterinary students. The role involves delivering lectures and laboratory sessions in gross and micro‑anatomy, preparing teaching materials, mentoring students, and contributing to scholarly activities.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction in gross‑ and micro‑anatomy for the Form & Function courses (≈60% of effort).
- Prepare teaching materials, including prosections, embalming, and maintaining the specimen collection (≈25%).
- Mentor professional and graduate students and provide service to the department, school, and university (≈10%).
- Engage in scholarly research and related academic activities (≈5%).
Required profile
- DVM or equivalent degree (Ph.D. candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.
- At least one year of teaching experience in gross anatomy laboratory or lecture settings is desirable.
