About the role
The Arizona State University Fashion Institute (ASU FIDM) seeks an Assistant Professor in Fashion Merchandising. The role combines teaching, mentorship, curriculum development, and scholarly research within a vibrant, inclusive fashion school that operates across downtown Phoenix and Los Angeles.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and mentor undergraduate students in fashion merchandising, both in‑person and online.
- Develop new courses aligned with personal expertise and departmental needs.
- Maintain an active research agenda focusing on areas such as omnichannel merchandising, digital commerce, retail analytics, technology applications, or visual merchandising.
- Provide service to ASU FIDM, the Herberger Institute, and the broader university community.
Required profile
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and ability to design diverse course offerings.
- Commitment to inclusive education and advancing the ASU Charter and Design Aspirations.
- Capacity to mentor students and contribute to departmental service.
Required skills
- Knowledge of omnichannel merchandising.
- Understanding of digital commerce and retail/consumer analytics.
- Familiarity with technology applications in fashion merchandising.
- Expertise in visual merchandising.
