Assistant Professor – Clinical Neurology (Neuromuscular)

About the role

The Department of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology to join the Neuromuscular Division. The incumbent will provide clinical care to neuromuscular patients across UHealth clinics, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient neuromuscular patient care in UHealth settings.
• Perform and expand EMG testing services at UHealth, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and the University of Miami Hospital.
• Train and mentor physicians, staff, and trainees.
• Prepare and present cases at teaching conferences.
• Develop and lead a research program focused on neuromuscular disorders.
• Generate data for future clinical research grant applications.
• Participate in educational and mentorship activities within the division.

Required profile

• MD degree from an accredited institution (or foreign equivalent).
• Completed Neuromuscular Fellowship; board certification in Neurology strongly recommended.
• Eligibility for a Florida medical license.
• Strong clinical and translational research background in neuromuscular disorders.
• Excellent communication, customer service, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Required skills
