Assistant Professor – Clinical Anesthesiology (Pediatrics)

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding and seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology with a pediatric focus. This full‑time faculty position involves clinical care, teaching, and participation in academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services for newborns, children, adolescents, and adults, including transplant cases.
• Supervise residents, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), and Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs).
• Participate in departmental conferences, faculty meetings, and teaching/mentoring of trainees.
• Respond to 3‑4 beeper calls per month and occasional evening or weekend calls.

Required profile

• U.S.-approved residency in Anesthesiology (or equivalent training and certification).
• Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship and board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology.
• Comfort with a broad case mix, including regional techniques and older children.
• Interest in academic medicine; research experience is highly desirable.
