Assistant Produce Manager – Fresh Department

About the role

The Assistant Produce Manager supports the Fresh department by maintaining stock levels, ensuring product quality, and driving sales. Working closely with upper management, you will help train staff, manage inventory, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast‑paced grocery environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain produce stock levels and quality to meet company standards.
• Train and develop team members, schedule work, and assign tasks.
• Assist with reviewing sales, promotions, and historical data to improve performance.
• Co‑manage inventory, monitor in‑stock levels, and handle product receiving.
• Inspect products for food safety and labeling compliance.
• Create appealing displays and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Cut, trim, and prepare produce for optimal presentation.
• Provide friendly customer service, address inquiries and complaints.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.

Required profile

• Experience or interest in grocery produce operations.
• Ability to work with management to train staff and plan schedules.
• Strong attention to detail for inventory accuracy and product quality.
