Assistant Nurse Manager – Urology (Night Shift)

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager will support the G90 Urology/Medical‑Surgical Telemetry Unit on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus during night shifts. This position ensures continuity of care, coordinates daily operations, and fosters a collaborative environment for staff and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and across departments.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers and ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Review operational and patient‑care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provide clinical evaluation, counseling, and corrective actions for nursing staff.
• Participate in hiring, performance appraisals and monitor EEO/AAP compliance.
• Develop staff schedules to maintain adequate coverage for all shifts.
• Support quality‑improvement initiatives, outcomes research and committee work.
• Assist with orientation, continuing education and in‑service programs.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification required for critical‑care areas.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable).
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Clinical assessment and patient‑care planning.
