Assistant Nurse Manager – Transplant Specialty Care Unit

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Transplant Specialty Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, overseeing clinical operations across day, evening, night and weekend shifts. This 34‑bed step‑down unit provides care for kidney, pancreas, liver and intestine transplant patients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate unit clinical operations, ensuring optimal patient care.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among caregivers and other departments.
• Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Conduct clinical evaluations, counsel staff, and manage performance and attendance.
• Interview, select, orient new caregivers and prepare work schedules.
• Participate in quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
• Assume Nurse Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a BSN.
• Current RN licensure in the state.
• Two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge and skills.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if working in Critical Care).
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
