Assistant Manager, Product Development

About the role

Farmacy Beauty, a clean skincare brand headquartered in NYC and Mahwah, NJ, is looking for an Assistant Manager, Product Development. You will help develop new skincare products from ideation to execution, managing day-to-day project tracking and working closely with R&D, Marketing, Creative and Regulatory teams. The role reports to the Director of Product Development.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the creation of skincare products across the product development lifecycle, including formula development, safety and claims validation, creative concept, design brief and market analysis.
• Research and execute product innovation aligned to customer needs and market opportunities.
• Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to define and write new product concepts, select active and story ingredients and coordinate regulatory and testing needs.
• Prepare R&D briefs covering texture, fragrance benchmark, usage, ingredients and technologies, positioning and claims.
• Evaluate formula submissions and give feedback to R&D, and track and communicate product and packaging submission and approvals.
• Coordinate, track and analyze testing (safety, clinical, consumer panel) including test design and desired claims output.
• Work with Regulatory to ensure compliance of formulae and claims.
• Maintain and share a weekly project status report.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional product development or relevant experience.
• Beauty industry (skincare) experience is a must.
• Able to thrive in a start-up environment with an all-hands-on-deck attitude.
• Able to commute to the Mahwah, NJ office at least two days per week; the role is hybrid, in person two days per week on a set schedule (currently Wednesday and Thursday).

What we offer

• Salary range of $70,000 - $85,000 per year.
• 15 days PTO plus 5 sick/personal days and 16 annual company holidays.
