Assistant Manager - Automotive Service and Tire Store

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring an Assistant Manager for its store in Brunswick. The role is full-time and hourly, depending on business needs. The Assistant Manager acts as manager on duty when the Store Manager is absent and helps run the store so that service standards and performance goals are met.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule guest appointments to optimise technician time and efficiency.
• Promote tire and service products and sales promotions to help reach sales goals.
• Handle guest needs in sales, service, complaints and adjustments, and build guest relationships.
• Help technicians explain repair and service needs to guests.
• Keep the store clean and in guest-ready condition.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking.
• Oversee technicians and organise workflow so they are used efficiently.
• Follow company policies, government standards and OSHA safety requirements.
• Perform Store Manager functions and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of retail experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report; ability to operate customers' vehicles for test drives.
• Preferred: ASE certification and State Inspection License (where applicable).

Required skills

• Problem-solving, inventory and merchandising management, and customer service.
• Good verbal and written communication, including explaining technical issues.
• Basic automotive maintenance, repair and tire service knowledge.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for long periods, and work in a noisy, dusty shop environment.
